Junior Development Director Craig Johnson comes to the Newport Beach Tennis Club with over 25 years of experience in the tennis industry.

In 1988 he was an All-American at Pepperdine University and later went on to compete on the ATP Tour for four years competing at Wimbledon, Australian and U.S. Opens. His last two years as a professional he played in World TeamTennis where he had doubles wins over Jimmy Conners and Martina Navratilova.

The next year he became the General Manager for the Wichita Advantage of WorldTeamTennis where he won the world Championship. For two years he coached the women at U.S.C and for one year coached the men at Pepperdine University. Most recently he served as General Manager of the Whittier Narrows Tennis Center where he implemented both adult and junior programs.

He is proud of the success of the new Grip N Rip junior program and is available to serve the needs of any junior who wants to pursue their tennis.
