The Grip n’ Rip Junior Tennis Department has an established Grand Prix program that provides RIPper Training Academy members as well as Newport Beach Tennis Club members to compete on Sundays from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

What is our Ranking system:
We have a Junior Challenge Ladder that is broken into three grip colors : Yellow (Introduction to match play), Green (Novice Tournament Players), and Orange (Satellite/Open Tournament Players). Each junior in our program is presently ranked by past results. All new juniors to program must begin at the bottom of the ladder and work their way up. Only the #1 position of the color group may challenge above to the next color division.

Match Format:
The supervising coach will place all participating players against an opponent who is closiest to them on our Jr. Challenge Ladder. Thematches are two out of three sets with a 12 point tiebreaker at 6-6. In the event that the first two sets are split the third set is played out in full, unless both players agree to play 10 point match tiebreaker instead.
